The leadership of the Delta State chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), led by its President, Comrade Ogberetitinor Obatarhe, on Tuesday, 12th August 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Ika South Local Government Council in Agbor.
The delegation from the State Secretariat in Asaba was received by the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Aluge Obia-Kainji, who represented the Executive Chairman, Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior.
In his remarks, Comrade Obatarhe commended the Executive Chairman for his transformative efforts in advancing the development of Ika South and his consistent commitment to the welfare of Local Government employees.
“Your administration has demonstrated that employee welfare and community development can go hand in hand. We appreciate your support so far and encourage you to sustain this pace,” he stated.
The NULGE President also appealed for the provision of a Sienna vehicle to the Ika South chapter of the union, to facilitate easier movement for official meetings and related engagements.
Responding, Hon. Ehiwarior, through the Secretary, expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated his administration’s resolve to prioritize staff welfare.
“Our workforce remains the backbone of the council’s operations. We will continue to provide the necessary support and resources they need to perform effectively. Before the year ends, the requested vehicle will be made available to NULGE,” he assured.
The visit formed part of NULGE’s ongoing statewide engagement to interface with council leadership, assess employee welfare, and acknowledge outstanding administrative performance.
