I had the privilege of joining the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mr. Shehu Dikko, during a significant inspection and engagement session.
As part of his unwavering efforts to restore the integrity and visibility of Nigerian sports, the Chairman has set an ambitious target: to reactivate and commence full-scale sports broadcasting by the end of the year.
Anchored on his 3Rs agenda—Reform, Rebuild, Restore—this initiative is more than infrastructure. It’s about reigniting national pride, empowering our athletes, and ensuring that Nigerian sports are seen and heard across the globe.
A cornerstone of this plan is the strategic partnership with Thompson Broadcast, Paris, the original manufacturer of essential broadcast equipment. Alongside officials from NTA, FRCN, VOA, and others, we inspected key facilities and reviewed the roadmap for full rehabilitation and technical upgrades.
This is a bold and commendable move—one that sets the tone for a new era in Nigerian sports media.
As always, I stand fully in support of visionary efforts that elevate Nigeria and unlock new opportunities for our youth through sports, technology, and innovation.
Nigeria is working—and together, we move forward
