Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudima (NAS), the chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Aniocha North Local government area, who shares the same federal constituency with Distinguished Senator Ned Munir Nwoko (SNMN), the Senator representing the good people of Delta North Senatorial district, is said to have struck a deal for himself with Ekwueme of the defunct Delta PDP
Information gathered from a dependable source revealed that NAS in his desperate ambition to clinch the Chairmanship position of the All Progressives Congress APC Delta State, has agreed to trade the Delta North Senatorial seat for the APC Delta Chairmanship position.
The source who pleaded anonymity for fear of reprisals told ATM news online that NAS agreed to the position swap after been made to realise that he can not be the state chairman of APC Delta, (which is zoned to Delta North), under the current APC power sharing arrangements in the Delta North Senatorial district.
According to the source, NAS was made to realized that Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency where he hails, is currently occupying the Delta North Senate Seat , and that Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency has the Deputy Governor of Delta State, that going by the principles of power sharing amongst the three Federal constituencies in the district, the Chairmanship position of APC Delta will automatically go to Ika Federal Constituency.
The source further stated that NAS was brainwashed to believe that his partway to realise his state championship ambitions was to work against Senator Ned Nwoko’s second term aspiration and support Okowa’s ambitions to go back to Senate in 2027, which is tantamount to position swap.
The Source emphasized that NAS agreed to the position swap after he was assured of support for the Chairmanship position and adequate funding for all necessary logistics to carry out the already laid down plans in the agreement reached with him.
”I am telling you that several meetings were held between NAS and the Okowa group in choice hotels at Abuja and in Asaba to perfect the plans, long before the Delta North Senatorial meeting of 14th June 2025,” the source stated.
Continuing the source, said “we all know that the Okowa group collapse into APC as soon as Senator NMN left the PDP for the APC, they took the decision for three selfish reasons,; to escape the EFCC harasments, to secure a second term for Governor Sheriff Oborevwo and to stop the second term aspiration of Senator NMN”
The source went on to add, “the objectives of the defunct PDP is to create a rift in the Delta APC, and the opportunity came when the Delta North Chairman of APC, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka conveyed the 14th June 2025 Senatorial meeting hosted by Senator NMN, as soon as the Okowa group got an invite for the meeting, they began to create unnecessary rouse and obstacles to bycourt the meeting”
“They raise dusts about protocol by insisting that the position of the Deputy Governor of a state is higher than that of the Senator of a Senatorial district and that Sir Monday Onyeme, the deputy Governor of Delta State who is from the same Senatorial district with Senator NMN, ought to host the Senatorial meeting, they started brewing discord in the party just a month and few days of moving into the party” the source highlighted.
In conclusion the source said “the seniority row was a ruse for the Okowa group to bycourt the June 14th Senatorial meeting, to flex their muscles and demonstrate their unwillingness to compromise on their main targets for collapsing into the APC”
Political analysts are of the view that the collapsed of Delta PDP into APC was not with good intentions but rather a charade to grab power, castrate the original Delta APC and rendereed the old members inpotent
They started fermenting troubles as soon as they moved into the party, instead of working to unite and strengthen the party.
Unfortunately, NAS comes in handy to achieve their sinister goals. He became a piece of pawn in their political diabolical cheerboard – power grabbing ploits.
The question is, will Anioma people compromise the spectacular performance of Senator NMN for egomaniac, myopic, and greedy clanish political bigot? 2027 will tell
